It’s Earth day. I’m sitting in my office with no lights on because you know, Earth day. And it’s raining cats and dogs outside. Needless to say, I need to hyper-focus on something I can control, and in this instance it’s going to be changing up the throw pillows on the sofa! I’m not much of a seasonal decorator (although that’s changing as I get older), but something I’ve always done to refresh our space is to swap out the pillows and throw blankets in the living room. The best part about using all neutral throw pillows, is that you know that no matter what, they will all go together. Any combination is going to give you great results, so don’t sweat the small stuff and grab a few covers.
Vintage Floral Throw Pillow Combinations
I absolutely adore these “grown-up” floral pillows. We’ve been seeing the typical style of florals for a long time (see outdoor pillows), so I was excited to find these more sophisticated and grown up floral pillows. I love the combination of minty-green and pink with neutrals as a base for this combination. Feel free to pick and choose your combo to create a unique set for your own sofa!

This one is a more standard pairing. I love the vibe of the floral pillow still, but mixing with the neutral pillow that adds a bit of a vertical stripe to keep the eyes moving feels really good.

Cottagecore is something I’m seeing become more and more in vogue. Originally, I was seeing this as a term used in video games like Animal Crossing styles or on home builds for The Sims, but I’m digging the idea of this style stepping more prominently into reality. Our Favorite Pillow Inserts
I won’t lie, there are other designers and home influencers who’ve done a ton of research and testing to find the best throw pillow inserts on Amazon. I, unfortunately, have not. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t have a good recommendation! I got lucky, and purchased one brand last fall and so far, they have served me well! They’re soft, fluffy, and karate-choppable, and that’s good enough for me.
One tried and true designer tip I do have for you, is to purchase your pillow inserts one size up from the pillow cover size. This ensures a nice full look to your pillows, and that they don’t look saggy. Trust me!
